National Offender Management Service (ESF/NOMS/Ministry of Justice)

The National Offender Management Service (NOMS) is designed to improve the employment prospects of offenders and increase their opportunities to access mainstream provision.
Delivery is built around a case management model and will operate across both custody and the community.
Our services will:
Extend employment opportunities for ex-offenders by increasing their employability and improving their access to mainstream provision.
Increase the number of ex-offenders entering the labour market with the key skills and abilities to become productive in the workforce and reduce re-offending
Remove barriers to entry into the labour market experienced by ex-offenders, with particular focus for women, promoting economic inclusion and equality of opportunity.
Learn Direct (Ufi)
learndirect is a nationally recognised brand for learning and is the largest e-learning network of its kind in the world. We deliver our unique range of products through three business streams:
1) learndirect careers advice offers free independent careers advice;
2) learndirect skills and qualifications has a number of centres with courses to improve your maths, English and IT skills; and
3) learndirect business provides off-the-shelf and bespoke work-based e-learning programmes
learndirect has been developed by Ufi (University for industry) with a remit from government to provide high quality post-16 learning which:
- Reaches those with few or no skills and qualifications who are unlikely to participate in traditional forms of learning;
- Equips people with the skills they need for employability, thereby strengthening the skills of the workforce and increasing productivity; and
- Is delivered innovatively through the use of new technologies.
To achieve this, Ufi aims to inspire existing learners to develop their skills further, win over new and excluded learners and transform the accessibility of learning in everyday life and work.
Adult Advancement Careers Service (aka Next Steps) (Coventry, Solihull & Warwickshire Partnership (CSWP))

PPDG works as a subcontractor on behalf of CSWP across the whole West Midlands region.
The fundamental principles of the adult advancement and careers service (aka Next Steps) are to provide a universal service of personalised & relevant information, advice and guidance (IAG) on getting on in work and life whilst reflecting individual needs and situations.
It is a single integrated service with three delivery channels operating under a single brand:
Those three delivery channels are:
Face to Face service;
Telephone service; or
Web service
(of which PPDG are contracted to deliver the Face to Face service only)
The face to face channel is delivered on a sessional basis, consisting of up to three interventions per eligible participant with a focus on moving individuals into a specified outcome
Foundation Learning (Young Persons Learning Agency (YPLA))
Foundation Learning (FL) is the new name for the Foundation Learning Tier.
A personalised programme of learning is built for learners, which must include:
- Functional Skills (Maths, English & ICT) (formerly Basic Skills)
- Subject or Vocational skills, knowledge and understanding
- Personal and Social Development
FL is the national suite of learning for 14 to 19 year old learners working predominantly at entry level or level 1.
